DeepSmith

AI search analytics and content production in one workflow

Content optimization
Why it stands out

Connects AI visibility signals to content opportunities and production.

Source review: · Public-source research, not a hands-on test

↗ Best for

Content teams that need a measurable backlog instead of generic AI writing ideas.

! Know before you buy

Engine coverage and usage limits are tiered, while the public independent review sample is still small.

01 / Editorial assessment

Is DeepSmith for you?

The AICiteKit take

DeepSmith is an unusually coherent choice for a team that does not want its AI-search report to become another unowned backlog. Its differentiator is not simply that it tracks prompts or generates articles; it puts those steps in the same operating context. A team can see that a competitor page is cited for a buyer question, inspect the coverage gap, create an opportunity, and send a reviewed article to a CMS without rebuilding the brief in another tool. DeepSmith is worth a bounded trial for teams whose bottleneck is moving from AI-search insight to publishable content. It is a weaker fit for an enterprise research team that needs real-user prompt-volume panels, crawler/server-log analysis, or independently established GEO performance.

A good fit if you are…

  • Content teams that need a measurable backlog instead of generic AI writing ideas.
  • SEO and AEO teams managing both traditional search and AI-search content.
  • Marketing teams that can supply accurate product, persona, voice, and editorial context.
  • Agencies that need separate client workspaces and can verify billing, permissions, exports, and reporting.
  • Teams willing to review and fact-check every generated article before publishing.

Consider another option if…

  • Buyers seeking a mature, independently validated enterprise AI-intelligence dataset.
  • Teams that require server-log crawler analytics or a consumer prompt-volume panel.
  • Stores whose primary problem is SKU feeds, merchant eligibility, price/availability synchronization, or shopping attribution.
  • Small teams that only want a lightweight prompt checker and do not need content production.
  • Publishers that cannot maintain a current knowledge base or review generated claims.

AI visibility tracking

DeepSmith’s public product page names mention rate, citation rate, share of voice, sentiment, and visibility trend across its tracked engines. The homepage also describes competitor visibility, cited pages, and prompt-level views. Those metrics are useful for prioritization, but buyers should ask how prompts are selected, how often each answer is collected, which model/version and region are used, how raw answers are retained, and what counts as a citation. A percentage without those dimensions is not a reproducible benchmark. Plan access matters. Pro lists ChatGPT, Grow adds Perplexity, Scale adds Gemini, and Enterprise is where the complete nine-engine set and multi-region tracking are exposed. Do not promote the Enterprise list to a universal promise for every account.

Content Map and competitor gaps

The platform describes mapping the buyer’s site and competitor sites into topics and funnel stages, with monthly page budgets that increase from 1,500 on Pro to 8,000 on Scale. This can help a content lead answer “what should we publish or refresh next?” using coverage evidence rather than an unranked keyword list. The page-credit rule is important: each page read and classified consumes a page credit, budgets reset monthly, and unused budgets do not carry over according to the current pricing FAQ. Confirm whether a crawl, recrawl, competitor map, and pending queue consume credits in the way your site architecture requires.

Article production

Pro includes 20 articles per month, Grow 40, and Scale 90. DeepSmith describes a pipeline that combines research, SEO/AEO optimization, internal and external links, a cover image, and publishing support. It also offers repurposing into social and newsletter assets. The commercial number is an article allowance, not a quality guarantee. During a trial, measure factual errors, unsupported product claims, source quality, edit minutes, duplicate phrasing, internal-link accuracy, and whether the final article answers the intended prompt. Do not compare 90 generated articles with 90 finished editorial assets without accounting for review labor.

Deep IQ and Brand Kit

Deep IQ supplies the context used by the production workflow. The public pricing page describes plan-limited sets of products and services, buyer personas, brand voices, content types, and visual guidelines. This is a practical defense against generic writing, but it creates a maintenance obligation. Keep ownership and review dates for product facts, prices, legal statements, prohibited claims, and customer proof. A stale Brand Kit can make an entire batch consistently wrong. Ask how context is isolated between workspaces and whether uploaded material is used for model training.

Archived research context ↗

CMS publishing and integrations

The official page lists direct publishing and names WordPress, Webflow, Strapi, Sanity, and Contentful in the comparison area. Publishing support can shorten the gap between draft approval and deployment, but the public list does not prove feature parity across every connector. Use a staging site first. Verify draft versus publish permissions, canonical tags, author and category handling, media, internal links, revisions, rollback, webhooks, and audit logs. A “publish” button is an operational integration, not proof that the resulting page is technically or editorially safe.

A focused evaluation workflow
  1. Confirm the trial duration, renewal, cancellation, page-credit behavior, article definition, and workspace billing in writing.
  2. Freeze a balanced prompt set covering branded, category, comparison, alternative, and problem-aware questions.
  3. Record engine, model/version, location, date, raw answer, cited URLs, and the platform’s metric for each observation where available.
  4. Map one site and two competitors; record page counts, pending pages, credits consumed, and whether recrawls are charged.
  5. Create two representative articles using difficult product facts, competitor comparisons, required sources, and prohibited claims.
  6. Measure unsupported claims, factual errors, duplicate phrasing, source quality, internal-link accuracy, and human editing minutes.
  7. Publish only to a staging CMS connection and test permissions, canonical tags, media, revisions, rollback, and deletion.

Pricing context & qualifications

The current official pricing page exposes three self-serve tiers and an Enterprise path:

PlanPublic priceMain allowanceEngine scope
Pro$99/month; annual discount displayed separately50 prompts, 20 articles/month, 1,500 pages/monthChatGPT
Grow$199/month; annual discount displayed separately100 prompts, 40 articles/month, 3,000 pages/monthChatGPT and Perplexity

EnterpriseCustomCustom prompt, page, article, Brand Kit, and regional limitsAll 9 named engines and multi-region tracking

The official FAQ says plans can be upgraded, downgraded, or cancelled without long-term contracts or cancellation fees. It also says page budgets reset monthly and do not carry over. Confirm taxes, annual renewal, article definitions, overage behavior, API limits, workspace billing, data retention, and the exact trial conversion terms at checkout.

The Software Advice listing reports a starting price of $99/month and presents a one-review 5.0/5 sample. Its pricing and product metadata are useful corroboration, but the listing is a provider-directory surface and should not override the current official plan page if the two diverge. Software Advice also discloses that it may earn referral fees.

A free trial is not a permanent free plan. Use the seven-day evaluation to test a fixed prompt panel, a representative content brief, a competitor map, CMS staging, export behavior, and the factual review process before treating any plan as a production fit.

04 / The tradeoffs

Strengths & weaknesses

Reasons to shortlist

  • Connects AI visibility signals to content opportunities and production.
  • Clear public Pro/Grow/Scale price ladder.
  • Article, prompt, page, and engine allowances are separated rather than collapsed into one vague quota.
  • Deep IQ and Brand Kit support consistent product and voice context.
  • Direct publishing and distribution-agent workflows reduce handoffs.

Reasons to pause

  • Entry plans do not cover every named AI engine; full coverage is an Enterprise boundary.
  • Public methodology does not fully specify prompt construction, model versions, geography, repeat count, raw-answer retention, or citation definitions.
  • One independent review is not enough to establish current consensus about support, quality, or ROI.
  • Vendor-authored comparison pages are positioning evidence, not neutral proof of performance.
  • Article allowances do not guarantee factual accuracy, originality, citations, traffic, or conversions.

Engine coverage and usage limits are tiered, while the public independent review sample is still small.

Alternatives to consider

Editorial fit comparisons—not performance rankings or claims that one option always wins.

AirOps ↗

Choose DeepSmith over AirOps when: a simpler public self-serve price ladder and article-production loop matter more than AirOps’s broader enterprise content-operations and data-layer positioning. Choose AirOps instead when: you need larger-scale workflows, richer analytics integrations, or an established content-operations environment with more extensive team governance.

Another direction / 02

Profound ↗

Choose DeepSmith over Profound when: the priority is turning visibility gaps into reviewed, publish-ready articles in the same workspace. Choose Profound instead when: prompt-volume intelligence, crawler/server-log analytics, enterprise governance, and measurement depth matter more than built-in article production.

Another direction / 03

Writesonic GEO Suite ↗

Choose Writesonic GEO Suite when: you prefer a broader AI content suite and its plan economics fit better; compare methodology and raw-answer access rather than assuming every “GEO” label means the same measurement.

MarketMuse ↗

Choose MarketMuse when: content inventory, topical authority, and editorial planning are the primary job and AI-search tracking is secondary.

AICiteKit assessment: public-source research, not a hands-on product test. Official materials establish stated scope; reviews are dated and may concern the broader platform. Neither establishes guaranteed citations, traffic or revenue.

Feedback themes and evidence limits

The only directly extracted product-specific review signal checked for this page is one verified Software Advice review. Its sub-scores suggest positive functionality and ease of use, with more qualified value and support scores. One reviewer cannot establish recurring themes, cancellation experience, output quality across industries, or the effectiveness of the newer AI-search modules.

The vendor’s own comparison cites five G2 reviews at 4.8/5, but that is not interchangeable with a directly checked review-platform sample. Preserve it as a vendor-reported signal and verify the canonical G2 listing before using it as current consensus. The evidence therefore supports cautious product-fit guidance, not a claim that DeepSmith improves citations or revenue for a typical customer.

How much should buyers trust the evidence?

Trust the official pricing page for current public allowances, while checking checkout for trial and account-specific terms. Trust the homepage for the vendor’s stated workflow, but treat “produce the content to win” as positioning rather than an outcome guarantee. Treat the one-review Software Advice signal as directional. A responsible trial should create the missing evidence: frozen prompts, raw-answer captures, before/after content markers, review time, factual-error counts, and first-party traffic or conversion records kept separately from citation metrics.
